INAUGURATION OF THE NATO SPS PROJECT "PEACE FOR SCIENCE"

We are pleased to invite you to the inauguration of the international project on February 2, 2024, at 11:00 AM in Room 124 WAWIZ at 2 Rychlewski Street, Poznań, or online.

This is the first project of its kind that aims to study the social impact capabilities of those in power, the legitimacy of authority, and social resilience in crisis management processes in Poland and Ukraine.

Our initiative responds to the current political situation in Europe and the world, which is increasingly destabilized by major crises, including the ongoing nearly two-year Russian attack on Ukraine. Effective crisis management has thus become a priority for politicians, local authorities, and communities, not only in Ukraine but also in Poland. The project aims to examine the social impact capabilities of those in power, the legitimacy of authority, and social resilience in crisis management processes in Poland and Ukraine. Based on the results obtained, we plan to develop concepts to improve the effectiveness of the crisis management system. The beneficiaries of this project include the community of the Poznań district (nearly 470,000 people) in the Greater Poland Voivodeship and the local community (about 300,000 residents) of the Bucha district in the Kyiv region of Ukraine. The opportunity to implement this project results from the fruitful cooperation between the Faculty of Management Engineering at Poznań University of Technology and the Poznań District, as well as the Faculty of Management and Marketing at Igor Sikorsky Kyiv Polytechnic Institute and the Bucha District Council (Ukraine).

On behalf of the project team,
Dr. Oksana Erdeli
and Prof. Serhii Voitko
